What’s the most unique perk offered to your employees?
Murray Resources pays the majority of our employees’ medical premiums and offers a 401(k) after one year — both rare in our industry. Combined with generous PTO, half-day Fridays, a paid holiday week, birthday and volunteer days off, employees feel supported both professionally and personally. The benefit that stands out most, though, is unwavering support and genuine care for each other’s success in work and life.
What does a good workplace culture mean to you?
To us, culture means being intentional about the type of company we want to be. The Murray Way outlines 27 guiding behaviors that shape how we treat clients, candidates and one another. It starts with “Do the Right Thing, Always.” Our culture is defined by trust, flexibility and collaboration, where employees are empowered to think like owners, bring ideas forward and succeed without being micromanaged.
What is one small change a company can make to create a healthier workplace?
Encouraging true work-life balance. PTO is important, but employees shouldn’t have to go on vacation to have a life outside of work. The “small” steps — respecting employees’ time after hours and offering schedule options — are just as critical to maintaining a healthy and well-balanced workplace. We emphasize communication and productivity during the day — and fully unplugging and focusing on family and personal priorities outside of work.
How does your company help employees succeed?
We invest in our employees’ growth by setting transparent goals and providing a clear roadmap for achieving them. Professional development is supported through training, mentoring, regular feedback and access to leading technology. Employees are trusted to manage their day, supported when challenges arise and encouraged to grow as professionals and people.
